    Is it 533 or 667?

it depends on the front side bus speed of the processor you chose or the processor that was in it when you bought it.

    here's the breakdown:

    533 MHz:
    Intel(R) Celeron(R) M 420 (1.60 GHz/1MB L2 Cache)
    Intel(R) Celeron(R) M 430 (1.73 GHz/1MB L2 Cache)
    Intel(R) Core(TM) Solo T1350(1.86 GHz/2MB L2Cache)
    Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo T2050 (1.60 GHz/2MB L2Cache)
    Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo T2250 (1.73 GHz/2MB L2Cache)
    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T5200(1.60GHz/2MB L2Cache)

    667 MHz:
    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T5500(1.66GHz/2MB L2Cache)
    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T5600(1.83GHz/2MB L2Cache)
    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T7200 (2.0GHz/4MB L2Cache)

If I'm not mistaken the memory sticks have a speed of 667 mhz. But I've heard from some places that RAMs of 667 and 533 mhz perform about the same because of the higher latency in the 667 mhz sticks.

so what am I gonna do? Update the CPU configuration right away (I just ordered today T2250 (1.73 GHz/2MB L2Cache)) or remain this CPU and memory FSB mismatch.

Upgrading to T5600 (1.83GHz) would cost $125 more.

The T2250 should do fine. If HP equipped it with 667MHz memory then it will automatically downclock to the same speed as the FSB. It will sync with the FSB and you can use either 533 or 667MHz memory in your system.
