I have a Pavilion DV9500 and the web cam seems to be working only once in a while.... Let say i reinstall the HP quick play software, i reboot and then the web cam is working.... Did this yesterday and solved the problem until this morning when i booted the laptop for the first time today.... was curious to see if the webcam was working, loaded the quickplay software and cannot have the webcam working. Is this a bug with the quickplay software or what.... Any other software we can download that will be compatible with the dv9500 integrated web cam ?
Am i the only one that has a problem like this with the webcam ?

Sounds very much like a bug in the software. Just out of curiosty, does it bring up a 'hardware detected' when after a reboot and you have to go through installing the drivers again?

    Cheers, Adam.

    no, not at all.
For no reason, the quickplay software doesnt seems to recognise the webcam... no error message though.

Hmmm, sounds very strange indeed. I've had a similar issue with hardware detection (allbeit a Video Capture card with Adobe Premier). My only advice I can think of is to reinstall the driver for the webcam.

If you want me to explain how to do this please send me the specs of what you're dealing with (like the Operating System etc(XP, Vista etc).

I have the exact same problem with mine. I have a dv9500z that I got at the end of October. I have vista premium and the webcam only works occasionally most of the time it doesn't. Hope you find a fix. I haven't found one yet.
