evo n1000v. Owned about 5 years, first problem ive had.

Starts about a minute after logging into windows. You can sit at the logon screen and it wont do it, but about a min after, this happens every time.

Ran chkdsk, and i thought it changed a little, but still same duration, almost like a slightly higher pitch after. So I bought a new HD(WD scorpion 120gb) cloned it off the original using acronis, same exact noise is still there.

Im a big time newb, understand hardware much better than software, thats why i cloned the new hd from original, was that a mistake, did I just bring an error onto the new one???

Its the floppy drive. Watch the video, you can see the light on in the drive.

Now, I dont need it. Can I disable it and leave it in, or do i have to replace it?

Try to replace the HD, but the sound is like something from a horror film

It's obliviously the floppy drive (can't believe your laptop still has a floppy drive... lol)...
Anyways, I had similar problem with my old desktop PC, turned out it was some sorta software activating my floppy drive after log on...
It's best that you disable your floppy drive or uninstall it manually by opening up your laptop...

try this floppy drive disabler first and see if it works...
