with the exact same configurations, the dv2000 is around 140$ more expensive than the v3000. anyone have any opinions on the general looks of each notebook? thx

I believe the dv2000 comes with 1.3 mp webcam and mic, standard, which I believe the v3000 doesn't have.

    Not positive, but pretty sure.

then the v3000 may be a better option. I have only seen the dv2000, from what ive seen i really like the styling of it, but its all personal preference i suppose.

the v3000 has a more dark look to it than the dv2000. The dv2000 has some wavy lines that are part of the design and the v3000 looks more professional looking.

Doesn't the dv2000 also have that remote that you hide in one of the side slots? I don't really care about a webcam but I like the idea of the remote for dvd's etc....

But as far as looks, even though most have only see product pics, the compaq seems to be the general favorite. No surprise, I am still a huge fan of the v2000.

one is black... one is black and silver... the differences between their lines get lesser each year.
The remote does not come standard, its 14.99 upgrade. Being my cheap self i didn't spring for it for some reason. I think i just forgot.
