    What might cause one USB port to fail? dv6-6135DX

    I've babied my dv6-6135DX since it was new and know it's never been dropped, spilled on, etc. In fact, it's barely moved from where it's used!

    Not sure when it happened but the other day I plugged in my external HDD in for a backup and the computer didn't detect the drive.

    Switched to the other left USB port and it's detected fine.

    The USB 3.0 ports on the right side are fine.

    I could see losing both left (2.0) ports but only one? That's very strange.

    I'm 100% sure it is not physical damage unless something was very weak from the factory!
