I'm going to college, blah blah, dad got me a dv6tqe with the config below. I just had my High School graduation Friday, and I've received $140 from relative because of it. I went back and config'd what my perfect dv6tqe would be config'd as, and the end price would only be a little over $100 for it, which is ridiculous since I'll be getting:

    A 9 Cell instead of a 6 cell battery.
    1080p instead of 720p screen.
    Blu-Ray opposed to no blu-ray.
    640GB 7200rpm HD instead a 750GB 5400rpm HD.

Of course great coupons come out when I already ordered. So. I'm planning on calling HP (order still in production), canceling it, handing my dad $100, and ordering the newly config'd dv6t quad. yes, no? I know I'll be waiting forever for it, but It seems like a good opportunity.

it seems like a good opportunity to join the ranks of those with a DV6 that won't engage the Radeon when you need it to. haven't you been paying attention to anything around here?? (just asking)

Will you be using an external monitor with the laptop? If you are not, I would highly recommended you get the 1080p screen, it is one of the most post popular upgrade and tons of people reordered when the 1080 option came out.

Depends on the bank, usually 2-3 days. Looks like he got a quick ship model. You'll always save more going the custom route. The one you spec'd out is a good deal. Just one thing to consider. IF you use intensive OpenGL programs at this point in time the dv6t/7t won't switch to the 6770M. Not a big deal for most but to some it is. Expect to wait about 2 weeks for a custom laptop.

Now I wait to see if the order gets canceled before they ship it. I made sure to tell them I was buying the same laptop anyways afterward, so they wouldn't rush and send me the laptop and hope I wouldn't return it.
