Hi all,
I have an intel based DV9000 with a Nvidia Go 7600 and of course it died on me. According to HP the vga adaptor does'nt work anymore. I can use the laptop in safe mode with vga settings and even go online. However when I boot the laptop normally I get vertical grey lines from the start and the boot up stops after the windows logo.
Since I bought the notebook in the US and now live in Holland I have a problem with getting it repaired. Sending the laptop to US for repair is not an option and HP Holland does not want to repair it cause it is not theirs. And I don't have any warranty, since my number is not on the list. BTW both customer service both completely suck big time
So my question is are there any alternatives, to buying a new non-hp laptop?? Is it possible to replace the whole motherboard by myself or something? Is there anything I can do with this laptop or is it really dead??
Sorry if this thread is double, I have been reading a of lot threads without result.

Try escalating to a HP case manager. Sometimes that works. If all else fails you can try reflowing the NVIDIA GPU. Search this forum for instructions on how to do this high-risk repair.
