I have system restored twice already, i think i'm about to do a 3rd. After 2 days already, spending my whole day trying to configure my laptop, things keep going awry. I spent many over 20 hours doing this in the past 3 days since i got my computer. Keep uninstalling with Revo uninstaller. I uninstalled things and stuff in the registry too, the ones bolded by revo. Now so far 2 problems have already come up, who knows what other problems are there. 1) i can't run quickplay (edit:fixed it by running setup from swsetup), 2) i can't download microsoft office XP(i used revo uninstaller to uninstall microsoft 2007 bloatware)
Should i just uninstall via the windows program/software uninstaller, thus leaving the extra files (especially in the registry)?

You're getting overworked and upset. Do one last recovery and don't uninstall anything. It seems you're uninstalling important programs that affect the functionality of the computer overall.

Yeah, i'm stressing myself alot. :X I overcomplicate things that i don't need to, but what am i to do, i want to have a cleaner laptop but i also delete important stuff.
Anyway, thanks for replying, made me feel better. Someone gets it that i'm over complicating things

If you do want to uninstall some of those programs, give me a list of the programs that you want to uninstall and I will cross out the "no-go" programs.
We're all here for ya pal! Just don't stress out over these types of MINOR problems. You get gray hair and you don't want that. -
You should perform a clean install. That way you can just add the necessary programs without having to worry about stuff being left over and what not.
What to do... Sigh so many problems hp dv5t
