    I've tried to figure out what type of RAM the HP dv4000 has in it so that I can upgrade to 1 Gig someday. I need to know the speed it can go.

    This is what I have in my v4000, Gskill It works really good in my laptop and I have no problems. It should work in your Dv4000 as well.
