I'm looking at swapping to a 7200-RPM HDD.
I know to backup drivers, personal files and such. And I want to clean install Vista HP. I have the Upgrade anytime and HP restore backup discs.
So what's involved other than pulling one out and slapping one in? Will it fire up and ask for an OS disk? Will the anytime disc work?
I'm looking at a Hitachi Travelstar or a Seagate Momentus in 100 GB or more.

Yes that all you should have to do. Just fire it up.

Yup, unscrewed the panel, pull out old HDD, stick in new HDD, press power button, insert Anytime Upgrade Disk, and Boot from that.

hmm in the dv9000t you have to use an adapter, so you remove that from the old drive and install in the new one then install it in the laptop. does the dv6000 not need one of those?
