Hi, well, just out of curiosity what do you think I actually have in my HP G60-115EA laptop? I'm getting a new laptop very soon (sig) and bought the laptop a year and a half ago, but would like some help to solve a puzzle that has had me confused for ages. It really isn't important to me but it would just be nice to know!

    So here's the puzzle:

HP website specifications say my laptop has the intel GM45 chipset with GMA 4500mhd graphics. The intel chipset identification utility also supports this stating clearly a GM45.

But Windows has other ideas, saying there is a 4500m. CPU-Z and GPU-Z also detect a GL40 with the 4500m.

So which could possibly be right? Like I said it's just out of interest - and to see if HP have been decieving or not!

The Intel 4 series chipsets with integrated graphics always come with the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500(M), which supports HD content. So, HP is correct about the graphics for the most part despite it being displayed rather differently on CPU-Z, GPU-Z, and in Windows.

Now, the actual chipset reading I'm not so sure about -- it's clearly a 4 series but there may be a slight discrepancy here which I don't think you should worry about too much. :) (If you're really curious, you can try taking the laptop apart to see for yourself!)
