    What's up guys,

Just got my HP DV7-1020us. It's a gargantuan notebook. Besides the point.
So, just getting a BLU-Ray enabled laptop, I figured I'll go get a BD. Because I didn't have it, I got V for Vendetta and came back to watch it.
Low and behold, Quickplay starts, it enters the first few screens up to the Warner Brothers logo, then goes to a screen with a disc spinning, and does nothing. It seems like it's having a problem getting to the main screen.
Any advice? I mean, this thing it right out of the box.

    Thanks,
    Rob

Make sure you have the latest version of Quickplay (I think it's 3.7). I used 3.6 and found it much buggier than the latest v. - haven't had a single problem. Anyway, good luck.

    Quick update:

Tried playing a non-Blu Ray DVD and it worked just fine. I popped it in and took a look at "My Computer" and the name of the DVD showed up. When I put in the blu-ray, under "My Computer" the disk was labeled "Volume_ID".

It's like it''s having probelms getting to the menu screen.

    Any thoughts?

Sorry for all the seperate updates, but I think I'll just use PowerDVD. Can I get any confirmations that this works?

Also, does the remote that came with the HP work for video players other than Quickplay (aka Will it work with PowerDVD?)

    Thanks guys

Well i bought that same laptop a month ago and i have put in Spider man 3 and transformers blue ray disks and i havent had any problems watching these ones.

With the quickplay upgrade the BD disks runs more fast and u should watch the BLUE RAY disk better and more faster.

The only problem that i gotted is that i cant see an blue ray disk with my HDTV and laptop display. I need to enter to the Nivdia control panel and put the HDTV (by hdmi) as primary monitor and disable the display from the laptop.

U could see the better picture with an HDTV rather the laptop display but the display alone also is good enough for me too.
