They are advertising a HP omen with a 4k IPS gsync display with a GTX 1070 pascal chip.. but on the "buy now" there is no option for anything above 1080p and certianly not a pascal gpu

Have they just jumped the gun, or made a marketing mistake? :|

same as with the US, or some other HP websites.
omen with gtx1060/1070 has been announced, will probably be available somewhere in september (competition announced them the same day, but already have them available and full specs/models published), or together with the omen x desktop in october at the latest.
though it seems to be just another HP-like fail...
- only omen 17 gets pascal (no word about omen 15 so far)
- usb 3.1 finally, but only gen 1 (wtf?!)
- (mini) displayport, but no thunderbolt v3/usb-c
- obviously no change to displays, ie. same BAD as with current models which were slammed by all reviews for being bad (bad contrast, bad color gamut etc.)
- omen 17 gets thicker (ok, may be unavoidable due to higher temperatures from gtx1060/1070)
- still exact same cheap plastic pavillion chassis, just with another design
how about an omen x 15 (& 17) notebook with everything done right (pascal, usb 3.1 gen 2, thunderbolt v3/usb-c, better displays, high-quality aluminum/magnesium or other metal chassis etc.)? just look at the competition (MSI, gigabyte, schenker etc.), HP, theyve been doing it for years already... -
well, still exact same cheap plastic pavillion chassis, just with another design

The new omens looks very disappointing. Its not even worth spending that much for a pascal version (GTX1060/1070) when its build quality is a huge step down from the previous one. Then again its no surprise because HP did the same thing to the ENVY series
Whats going on with the HP omen UK website?
