    When an airline says you can plug in your laptop in the seat and use it, what kind is the plug?

    Is it the 2-prong, the 3 -prong, the car type plug??

    any ideas what would it most likely be becaise I am hoping it will take the three pronged envy charger.

    3 prong on continental international flights

    It should be 3 prong on all flights, really

    Have a nice trip ;D

    International? Their movie things on the back of the seat are pretty cool.

    Smetimes the plane can't produce enough power to power all of the devices, so your outlet will turn off until you unplug it and plug it back in

    I was riding economy, and the plugs are in between each seat, under it. 2 plugs

    So that would be

    |_| = seat

    |_|o|_|

    o = plugs

    Yea it is definitly a new thing to have plugs on airplane (atleast for me) and I have traveled alot international. For the most part, international flights have had personal tvs for a while. And this is regarding economy, no business/first class.

    Be warned that they don't give out power constantly for the entire 14 hours. Especially if you game or something, you will end up taking up the entire power reserve in like two hours and it needs another three hours for that plug to recharge. Those plug were really meant to charge devices like MP3 Players and Tablets and for Laptops that can run on battery for a duration and needs a quick fill up/ Don't rely on it to do power house things cause that thing will run out of reserve power in one go pretty quickly.

    Note that I have experienced this with Korean Air Economy with an Envy 15 that was running Dragon Age: Origins on 120w PSU. I was on battery mode two hours in! :p

    The plugs and generators in 1st Class/Business might be better I think but the Economy ones are like that for the moment.

    Ah thanks for the heads up Star Forge. This will be a great time to utilize my award winning leech power outlets from different seats system :p. But I do have an extra battery :cool:. I need to survive for couple days lol, I got two flights and day between them in a hotel. Flight 1 -> hotel -> flight 2 = three days displaced :twitchy:.

    I am sure you can recharge everything at the hotel between flights and with your 2nd battery and as long as you aren't like doing resource-intensive stuff during flights, two batteries and the reserve plug should be sufficient.
