    Just curious...
    What time of year do you think that the best deals are available for Compaq? Holidays? Christmas?

    Sure as hell ain't now! In fact, you can get pretty much the same PC for LESS if you choose the HP, simply because they throw in more free stuff (like a burner) or it comes with more memory on HP so the upgrade costs are cheaper, plus shipping is free on HP but not on compaq.

    Actually I would expect better deals probably right after christmas and just before Windows Vista comes out. They will want to give deals on computers then as people at that point will want to wait until Windows Vista comes out and people won't be buying them for Christmas.

    My dilemma is I expect there to be better hardware configs once vista is out. Do I want to wait? Or rather, can I?
