I keep waiting to hear what HP is going to do with the 13? I5/I7? Decent ATI card? SSD? What are they waiting for? Is there that much inventory to sell off?

They removed the high-end display option the other day...
They probably need another month or so for the new CPUs and GPUs to cycle to it along with the DM3...
It does have an SSD option btw... $200 for the 160gb Intel.
The Envy 15 right now is just a much much better deal, not to mention significantly more powerful. -
The Envy 13 is already what it meant to be for a 13 inches laptop ...
-
Yeah, I don't see any point in improving the Envy 13. If you plan on gaming (assumed from the specs you're wanting) on a 13" laptop, you're crazy as hell.
-
would love to see i5-540 on the Envy 13!!
-
Wait... So the Envy 15 is somehow "worthy" of an upgrade to Intel and ATI's newest hardware but the 13 isn't....
-
Of course we, as consumers, don't have any clue how well certain models are selling, but if they ditch the Envy 13 or don't upgrade it, we know it wasn't a huge seller. For all we know, the Envy 13 could have been a total waste of money for HP in the design aspect.
And a smaller screen with a crappy resolution, no matter what makes the laptop work (CPU or GPU) isn't worth $200 more than the bigger version. Ever. -
How is 1600x900 on a 13" screen crappy? That's pretty amazing, to me. And although it is smaller than the 15", that's a good thing to me. I don't want to carry around a big computer, considering it will only be marginally more powerful. If I want to complete serious computational tasks or do gaming, I'll use my "order of magnitude" more powerful desktop.

Or, if you're feelin' wild, click Customize, and you'll see there's no 1600x900 option, still. -
Check it out buddy:

Until very recently, 1600x900 was an option for the Envy 13. -
Sorry, "buddy", just saying what HP's official site shows. Good luck trying to get a 1600x900 display when they don't offer it and/or never claim so on their site.
-
As mentioned as early as the 2nd post and by peteman, there really used to be a 1600 x 900 res available for the envy 13 (I customized one before), and I have no clue why HP took it down. It wouldn't mention it on the customization page because, well, its taken down. o_o
Even a simple google search could provide enlightenment. -

Well, not really considering Alienware is releasing an 11inch gaming laptop and the Vaio Z is getting refreshed with a GT330m, it is definitely possible to game on a 13 inch laptop.

In Hong-Kong they still sell them with the 1600x900 screen. I just saw one earlier on today and the screen was really amazing. The price though on the other hand was not so amazing.

What no apology?
Still no 1600x900 13" Envy which is exactly what I wanted. I guess I waited too long.
When is HP going upgrade the Envy 13?
