I got my 8510p a month ago and want to know when I need to clean the vents. My temps seem fine as of now with my CPU temps ranging from 35C to 40C at idle depending on how cool my room is. At full load on AC power, it goes around 58C and 61C.

For some reason, I can't get any program to read my GPU temps.

Every few months should do it. When I reviewed the 8510p, I had to use RivaTuner to get temp readings . . . no other utility I tried worked.

Do you open the laptop and clean it or just blow air into the vents?

I use compressed air on the vents once every 2 months , and a comlpete clean once a year
