It'll probably be a while before HP gets them up here in Canada. They always seem to be slower up here.

I bought my DV6000 three months ago at FutureShop. It was on sale with a $150 instant rebate at the time and it has everything I need. Performance is excellent after doing a clean install of Vista.

Before I bought it, I looked at all the other brands and models like Acer, Toshiba, Dell, etc., and the HP seemed to have the best touchpad, keyboard, and display. It was actually cheaper than Dell as well for an equivalent model. The model I bought has more than enough features and performance for my needs.

I recently looked at the new HP models, and didn't find anything really different, other than faster processors and a fingerprint reader, non of which really matters to me.

The warranty issue if you buy in the US is unknown...they may cover it, they may not. Worst case is that you have to ship it back to a US center to get repairs done. Someone else may have better info...

For information, I called HP Canada and the guy said to me: HP Canada is always late of about 2-3 months compared to HP US...

Where is the problem with HP Canada???? ... can't beleive this delay..

I'll go with lenovo t61 just for this reason.

    a+
