    Hey Everyone.

You might remember me trying to find out what laptop I want, about 4 months ago. I've been trying to order this damn laptop ever since!!

I've tried 5 different sites, and they all had a problem with me ordering the laptop. I live in Qatar, so I'm ordering it to someone in the US that will shop it to me.

HP website: Requires a credit card issued in the US
CostCo: Doesn't ship to Courier Services.
CircuitCity: Doesn't have a good model.
CompUSA: Has a problem with my credit card, and won't say what it is.
eBay: (I kinda don't trust them) and they require Shipping/Billing Addresses to be the same.
Amazon: Requires a Billing Statement that I can't get.

I'm getting a new credit card instead of an Internet Card, so that might allow me to order it from CompUSA and Amazon, but still, any of you know of any other trust-worthy sites that sell the hp dv9000t laptops?

    Thanks

if u are first sending the laptop to a person in the US then ask that person to use his cc to pay for the laptop after u have transfered him the money through bank wire transfer service or through paypal and other online services.

I am sending it to myself through a courier service. I don't really have any friends/relatives I can trust with this in the US

you could buy it from carrefour in Qatar, not the on in CC but the other one in that new mall near the olympic grounds.

alternatively, you could use google checkout to purchase it from somewhere like buy.com or anywhere else that supports google checkout. google charge your credit card so they support overseas cards as long as you verify by sending in a scan of your card and drivers licence

oh and use aramex shop n ship if ur not, its cheaper and quick

    Haha, yeah, I'm using Aramex.

I completely forgot about the Carrefour in Villagio.

The thing is, I'm guessing they're going to be charging a lot more than the deals on Amazon for crappier configurations.

I've found 3 models on Amazon, I just need to decide one one.

    $1849: 512MB video card, and 160GB space.
$1799: 512MB video card, but only 100GB space.
    $1749: 256MB video card, and 160GB space.

I only play UT GOTY 2004, though, so it shouldnt make that much of a difference. But I might one day decide I want the whole thing.

The thing is Im saving for a Wii too.

I think I'll just go with the full on one.

Thanks. I'll check out that google thing.

Ahh villagio haha I was struggling to remember the name!

yeah i went there a few months back and they did have a dv9000 series though I cant remember the config. and i think it was more expensive than the ones you listed. the 512MB in the go7600 is actually useless as the card isnt powerful enough to use that much so you should check out other stores especially ones that use google checkout.

Also you should think about customs and tax, ive heard mixed stories about qatar and how much they charge. some havent been and some have been charged so you might need to consider that too
