Ok maybe I'm dumb today but I can't remember how to get to the screen where I can adjust the contrast for my dv6000t (go 7400) on Vista. My blacks are not so black anymore and the screen looks too bright but its not the brightness. Also since I got vista I can't find out how I can check mfg of my LCD since it shows as generic pnp monitor. I tried display settings but that got me no where.

Well, for contrast, we're all SOL at the moment. Nvidia's drivers suck and their control panel doesn't allow for most of the adjustments the XP drivers did. Hopefully, a major driver update will come from them soon.
To check the LCD manufacturer:
Device Manager --> Monitor --> Generic PnP Monitor --> (right click) Properties --> Details Tab --> Select Hardware Ids from the property dropdown box.
You'll see something like MONITOR\AAA1111, where AAA is the three letter manufacturer code and 1111 is the model number of the panel.
Hope that helps. -
Dang I could of swore I saw a screen with sliders for color, contrast, ect but then again maybe I got it confused with my XP version of this laptop I had before I exchanged it for this one. I did notice that the nvidia control panel says that it has contrast controls when using help but when you follow the instructions to get there you can't find any option for color correction and such .

Actually, I just realized that the latest beta drivers DO have the contrast (and other) sliders. I'm nearly positive those weren't there on all the previous releases. Grab the latest 100.64 or 100.65 release from www.laptopvideo2go.com . Follow the instructions and get the modded inf. Install and you should have the sliders by going to Nvidia Control Panel --> Display settings --> Adjust desktop color settings. These drivers are causing me some issues (though all the Nvidia Vista drivers seem to), so I can't vouch for their quality, but they do get you the controls.
Where is the contrast adjustment under Vista
