    Where to download graphics drivers for DV6?

    From what I've understood, if I want to update my drivers to 12.8, I need to simply install the Radeon Catalyst 12.8 mobilty 64bit drivers over my current drivers.

    But I can't figure out a way to download this driver!
    I tried AMD's official website, but it makes me download a 1.1mb tool which checks for the graphic card. But it fails to detect my card (I believe because my notebook has hybrid graphics). I tried links here AMD Catalyst 12.8 (8.982.0 July 27) AMD Official WHQL - Guru3D.com Forums, but they're dead. Can't figure out how to download the new 12.8 drivers.

    Any tips?

    Try setting to fixed graphics in the BIOS and then the software should recognize your AMD video.

    Bummer. Honestly on mine I didn't see a big difference in performance when upgrading. I just stayed on HP's 11.x series.

    (Been busy, sorry for the extremely late follow up)

    So 12.8 can't do fixed switching. Why is that? Anyway, which is the latest version which supports fixed switching?

    And, what is the difference between

    The correct link to Catalyst Mobility 12.8 is here - http://www2.ati.com/Drivers/mobile/12-8_mobility_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe

    The first download link (which is Catalyst) is only compatible with desktop graphics cards. The second link (which is Catalyst Mobility) only supports notebook/laptop graphics cards.

    Brilliant! Thanks a lot :D. One would think it wouldn't be so tough to find a working link for such a popular driver.

    Actually both of them list AMD Radeon HD 6700M series (mine is HD 6770M), hence the confusion.
