Has anybody managed to successfully get a Windows Vista disc from HP? Would you mind sharing with us the channel you went through to get it?
With Windows 7 around the corner I would like to have a Vista disc handy.

What is the model of your notebook? HP can provide Windows Vista recovery discs to you if you request it from them.
Of course, the HP recovery discs do contain bloatware though if you choose to use them. -
It's a DV7T. I have a set of recovery discs created through the Recovery Manager but the bloatware is exactly why I'd rather have a Vista install disc. Would be nice to do a fresh format & install of a clean OS and put the Win 7 upgrade on top of that.

I've never heard of HP giving out a retail vista disk. The closest thing you can do is create your own by borrowing a friends vista disk and use vlite http://www.vlite.net/ to slipstream your own disk from it. You then use your backed up activation to activate your clean vista install by using ABR http://directedge.us/content/abr-activation-backup-and-restore
That's what I've done.
