A friend of mine just gave me a dvc5003cl. It is only about 3 months old, but the screen is busted.

Anyone know where I can get a new screen and possibly a how-to on disassembling the laptop to repair it?

    Guide to take unit apart?

www.hp.com , type in model number, look under documents

Display panel? Don't know if these are the links I was really thinking about, but the should help.

    HP PartSurfer

Type in your model number, get part number, then search by that part number to find out what "other" models the screen fits.... Very useful to confirm correct part #.... and very useful to find one on Ebay...

Just use a 19" montor that plugs into the lappy. Cost abput 1/2 price and more realestate.

But that defeats the fundamental purpose(mobility) of owning a laptop.
