I just received my DV5T last night from HP!!! I wanted to do a clean install, but I cannot find ANYWHERE to get a copy of the Vista anytime upgrade or any Vista installation disc period.

I bought Vista Ultimate 64 and want to do a clean install. What can I do?

The only other option is to get a OEM disc, but that would cost extra. Or, you can just do the regular thing of taking some time to uninstall what you don't want and to download your updates.

If you have the Retail "Vista Ultimate 64 Disk" you don't need the Vista Anytime Upgrade disk. In that case just follow Orev's Clean Install procedure as mentioned in a couple posts back.

Or, did you mean to say that you "bought Vista Ultimate 64 pre-installed" and want to do a clean install?

I am thinking he had it pre-installed. But I am in the same boat as you are mason, can't find the x64 media anywhere!

I made .iso's of the of the Anytime Upgrade media (both 32-bit and 64-bit) you folks are looking for when the files to make them were available on the web. I have no where to upload a 3+GB file and make it available for download or if it would be legal. I would be glad to share the files but would need direction on how to proceed.

legally you cannot distribute the iso because you don't have distributing rights.

I bought the "pre-installed" version of Vista Ultimate 64bit. I read OREVs' thread, but digital river doesn't sell just the media discs sans licenses anymore, and HP's don't come with the secret hidden directory of the installation on them.

    Any other options?

Or just manually uninstall :X that's what i have to do. Got mine yesterday, was confused as hell. Realized that i didn't have Vista discs, and looked everywhere for it. I looked in 4 laptops with Vista, none had it. 3 were HP and 1 was a VAIO, no luck. So today, i system recovered and plan to just uninstall everything.
