I recently purchased an Envy 14 and the radiance display was not an option. Is there somewhere I can buy just the panel and install it myself? I have looked everywhere online and even called local repair shops (Bay Area, CA) without luck. Even the HP parts store does not have this panel to purchase. Btw this is my first post and I love all the information I have gotten from these forums! Thanks!

I'm going to go ahead and say nowhere right now. Ebay may get some when people start selling their broken envy's for parts. I was wondering the same thing myself since I will be getting my Envy in the next week or so with the Brightview display. Sadly, I think you will just need to keep checking here and ebay to see if one pops up.

The Radiance display is sold on the parts site. It is the whole assembly - mics, camera, screen, panel, etc. It is about $300.It appears that they will be available, once again, starting in December.

That's odd. My ship date is also the 11th and has been for a week. Did you order the i7? Maybe they are holding the orders up to put the radiance back in. :)

I'm thinking the lower res bright view will turn in better numbers in the way of FPS on games. The radiance will have more real estate but you'll need binoculars to read it, requiring an instant bump in DPI or new glasses.

Either way the E14 demolished the specs on nearly every notebook in its class per the review on laptopmag.

Where are you getting this information from?

Back in December? They found a new company to make the screens?

If it's any helpful apart from maybe e-bay or someone looking to cash in on some parts I don't see where else you could purchase a screen. I say it from personal experiemce as I've been since last month looking for an alternative or just find an Envy 14 with radiance. As it stands the only way you can have such screen is buying from the HP Outlet, refurbished ones.

Not sure how mine will turn out, I cross my fingers because I'm currently living in the UK and ordered it from the US. In the UK radiance wasn't an option to begin with so I'm praying nothing goes wrong. Good luck with your hunt!

If you do a search for the supposed PN 608366-001 it just says they're not available and it doesn't say they are the radiance displays either.

does anyone know the model number of the e14 radiance display (just the panel)? any info would help. this seem to be an impossible part to get information about.

    Thanks

The part number for a radiance display is 608366-001. Here is the link in the HP Parts Store.

I ordered my display about a month ago. Guess they finally got some in stock as it should arrive tomorrow (received shipping notification on Sunday).

thx for the HP part number, I may have to order it like that. But what I am looking for is the model number for just the panel itself (not the screen and mic and camera).

They do not sell the actual LCD panel separately. It is an assembly. I tried to take apart the broken one I had and the hinges would be the real issue. I suspect it can be done, however.
