Where's the Fn lock for this laptop? It seems like HP integrated volume control and other miscellaneous functions to the Fn keys. If I press f10, it will increase volume. This is awesome when doing everyday tasks. But when playing games, the fn keys are usually used for in-game actions. Isn't there suppose to be some kind of Fn lock option to toggle Fn keys functionality? If off, it will increase volume. If on, it will perform the action mapped to it in that application. I notice there's a fn key in the lower left corner but I do NOT want to press that in conjunction with the actual f10 key all the time.

there are some random key combinations to fix it, you'll just have to try them (google it) but it still may not work

can you remap the keys in game to do what you want?

HP refers to them as 'action keys' and they can be disabled in the BIOS. (System Configuration Menu > Action Keys Mode) When you disable them you'll have to hit fn+hotkey to use them, basically the opposite of how it's set up now. Nice to see someone else that has the exact same notebook btw. :)

bchreng, thank you so much! This was driving me nuts in starcraft 2. I was this close to returning this laptop to Staples. I am still very disappointed I can only play on medium setting in starcraft 2. I expected at least high with the specs on this laptop.

Same here. It sucks that we can't run it at high settings, but it's as long as it runs right? What settings do you have it on? And what do you use the function keys for?
