Resolution is good. I prefer WUXGA 1900x1200

I am not a fan of P4s in laptops for battery life. You have 12 cells and you'll need it. You should get a spare battery.

Only 4200 RPM HD? That is slow for the price you are paying for a system.

Graphics card is older. Isn't it up to 9700 now?

Overall price is high for what you got. You can configure for less on www.hpshopping.com, exp with a student discouunt. You can get a Dell i6k for less with better battery life.

Where did you buy it? What is the return policy?

    Dell Inspiron 6000
    1.6 GHZ Centrino (Sonoma)
    WUXGA 15.4" WS
    512 MB RAM
    60 GB HD
    Wireless B/G
    DVD/CD-RW
    9 Cell Battery x 2
    ---
    Palmone Tungsten C/WIFI

    Well,

WUXGA has a higher resolution. The caveat is that the text is smaller but adjustable. The WSXGA is the resolution of choice by many laptop owners. Check out discussions also on www.notebookforums.com

WUXGA is a little too much resolution on a 15.4" screen. On a 17", it's just right, but it's better to go with WSXGA+ here.

    --------------------
    Laptop Requirements
    - Sonoma
    - ATI Mobility Radeon X700
    - Thin & Light form factor
    - 15.4" (bright/enhanced) screen, at least SXGA+
    - Nice style
