For my nx9420, I'm looking for a 3 year extended service plan. I see the U4395E care pack for around $100-$120 for 3 year pick up/return CPU ONLY warranty. Is this the one I want? I just want one that if something messes up I can send it away and get it back. Turn around time isn't very important to me. And I'm assuming the "CPU ONLY" refers to everything that is physically attached to the notebook? (i.e. all hardware, display, keyboard, etc?) So which care pack? I keep getting conflicting answers from different authorize HP resellers as to which care pack is compatible, let alone what they entail...

(And I don't trust buying from HP nor calling them and asking, since the last time I asked them for the right care pack they sold me a non-compatible HP Pavilion Home care pack then wouldn't refund my money, over the phone too...)

Hey danboris, it seems like I have the exact same notebook as you have and a backpack from the same line (Contour Backpack). Anyways, I have thought about the extended service plans as well an the U4395E seems to be the most reasonable plan. From what I'm looking at, it is a 3 year plan for basic pick up and return service. That is probably what you have now. If you really want to shell out some money, then go for U4400E which is a 3 year plan pick up and return with accidental damage protection. Lastly you can go with a single year with the accidental damage protection. I think those are all your options so if you are not doing anything that puts your notebook in great danger of being broken accidentally, then the U4395E plan seems the best. I will probably purchase that plan soon as it seems reasonable.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to go with the u4395e also from a reseller. I sent an email inquiry to zones.com and their sales rep was very nice and informative and even gave me a followup phone call after an email with tons of helpful info and no pressure to buy. I'd recommend zones.com right now just based on the fact that their salesperson was so helpful. Her name was Debbie. See? Being a good salesperson will get you free referrals =P even though I haven't bought it yet.

I see it here at PC Connection and it lists Accidental Damage as being included? Free shipping also so I am guessing it is delivered via email. Any thoughts on this product page?

The nx9420 isn't supported for the site at PC Connection.

Would that matter? It's the same care pack, isn't it? U4395E resold by 3rd party should be the same as anywhere else, no?

That one says for select EVO notebooks so I don't think that would be valid. Even though the package number is the same, I am pretty sure that it cannot be applied to an unsupported notebook.
