lol yeah stupid question right? I dont even know what laptop i got. I know i got a Compaq V3000 but at Compaq;s page i find around 400 different V3000. Like V3000ZX etc. How can i know which 1 i got? i cant find anything n the user manuals or on my laptop box...

if you just tell us that you have V3000 how in the world are we supposed to figure it out LOL. maybe you should list the factory issued specs.
-
Do you have a receipt you could check?
-
look on the bottom of the laptop for a sticker with a barcode on it. Give us every number there (especially if one is preceded by SN).
If you don't see a sticker there, find the hard drive bay, power down/unplug the laptop, remove the HD, and look inside the bay. -
haha yeah i guess hehe, well i got 512 DDR2 ram. Celeron 540 on 1,8 GHz, x3100 graphic card, 30CD motherboard.

The model number should be listed somewhere on it. On mine the specific model number is on the service tag that also says it's a v6000 the s/n and the p/n. On the bottom of the tag it lists the model and the length of the warranty. In my case v6105nr.
