Im planning on getting a new 6500t and I would like to know if it is worth spending the extra $75 for the bump in processing power. I know the .2 Ghz wont do very much, but I would like to know if it is worth it for the 2mb extra L2 Cache.

    Core 2 Duo T7100 (1.8GHz/2MB L2Cache)

    Core 2 Duo T7300 (2.0GHz/4MB L2Cache) <-- +$75

Do you plan on doing any CPU dependent task like encoding/math(number crunching)/business apps/video editing task do you plan to do with this notebook?

If yes then a higher L2 cache and clock speed(ghz) would be beneficial in those task. In general/basic task like word/surfing/ect you probably wont notice the difference

Put the money toward another gb of ram instead of 200mhz...

I would recommend the processor upgrade as well as the memory upgrade. Memory upgrade to 2GB is a definite must with Windows Vista.

I will probably be doing CPU intensive tasks, like some light-medium gaming, video encoding, photoshop. I am planning on getting the 2Gb of RAM, and a dedicated graphics card. So then if i do plan on doing those things, then it would be worth the price for the upgrade?

In that case, yes. The T7300 upgrade is worth the money.

    I concur. For $75, it's worth it.

Get the T7300. You'll always regret not getting it when you're setting there waiting for some program sometime in the future to load.
