After I removed that s***t called Media Center Edition from my Pavilion notebook, I set up XP Pro instead. Now I am searching some useful software and I was thinking of reinstalling QuickPlay as well. I downloaded QP v3, but I was informed it must be installed only on Vista. So can anyone tell me witch version I should look for, or even better, upload right here? Thanks!

Presuming you have a dv2/6/9000 series Pavilion, you"ll need Quickplay v2(specifically v2.1 or 2.3). There are 2 parts to this versions - a bootable version for which you will need a separate partition and one which plays from within Windows.

Do note that if you have a system which shipped without Quickplay then there are good chances that QP v2 wont install the full version but rather install a truncated DVD play which only plays DVD's.

I didn't know you could still use QuickPlay for XP. I have the dv2500t, where would I download it? So that button doesn't become useless afterall? Whenever I accidentally hit that button, it actually turns on my laptop.

Yes, they make Quickplay for XP, just do a search on google or on HP's website. Make sure its not the upgrade file though, you have to make sure its the full blown version. Remember though, to do a correct installation of Quickplay you will have to reinstall your OS and if you don't have the beginning 200MB (I can't remember the exact size) you will have to blow away all your partitions as well because Quickplay has to sit on the first partition of the HDD. There is a guide on how to install Quickplay on HPs website, do some searches and you should find it.
