Help me pls!

That I did not know. I'm not that savy on the Sempron, but my understanding is it's close to what the Celeron is to the P4, but much better than the Celeron.

As much as I prefer the AMD 64 processors, you'll play games better on the pentium because of the video card and the pentium 4 is better then the Sempron.

But X700 128MB is better than X600 256MB!

The Socket 754 Semprons are Athlon 64's with much less L2 cache and the 64-bit section removed. They're reasonably competitive with P4's and they annihilate the Celerons. While the Sempron 3000+ isn't going to keep up wtih a 3.4GHz P4, it's going to run a helluva lot cooler and as has been mentioned the X700 is a substantial improvement over the X600.
Plus, if you're a lunatic like me, you could crack the thing open and swap in a proper Athlon 64 or Turion CPU at a later date [].
What notebook is this you're describing anyhow? I suspect it's one of the new Acer machines that aren't available here in America (sigh). AFAIK they only sell the lame shared memory GPU versions here (except for the Ferarri series, that we can get). -

I would say get Notebook #2(is it the acer Aspire 3000 series[
]). If the Sempron used is the 25W version. Its going to consume helluva lot less power then the Pentium 4(80W+)and the heat dissipated by the Sempron will be a lot less. The P4 is better performance wise but the gap is not too wide. But, then again the newer video games are more dependant on the performance on the graphics card than the processor. As Brian said if you are upto the challenge then replacing the Sempron with the A64 is not a big problem or you can check out the Athlon64 version with the X700 sold in Europe(Aspire 5000 series)
[B)]They never bring those combinations across the pond & we all know the reason(Thanks Intel[!] )

It's the Acer Aspire 3020 series :Sempron 3000+(socket 754,Fsb 800Mhz,25W version)and Ati mobility X700 128MB!I think that don't crack the thing open and swap in a Athlon 64 or Turion CPU(i'm not able to make it[
]) because i'm interested only to the videogames and i think that a more powerful processor don't improve the Ati X700 performance's!
Do you not think so? -

The Sempron will do until there is better WinXP x64 support and more 64-bit games. Far Cry's 64-bit version is supposed to look a bit better. If you have the money for the Athlon 64 version of the notebook by all means get it, but if not, you're still better off with the Acer than the P4 notebook.
Which configuration is better?
