Your two choices are the Hitachi 7K100 series and Seagate 7200.1 series 2.5" notebook drive. I'm not sure where you'd buy one in Canada.

You will need to remove the adaptor from your old drive's IDE interface and move it to your new drive. Don't forget to remove your notebook's battery before making hardware changes.

    or

How do those look? Would they work? And which ones better?

    According to HITACHI's Website:

    E7K100 - http://www.hitachigst.com/portal/site/en/menuitem.a8317ea3f244384ccf1824a0eac4f0a0/
    7K100 - http://www.hitachigst.com/portal/site/en/menuitem.72e3cabd3a6a384ccf1824a0eac4f0a0/

The E7K100 offers performance caching and Desktop-like performance - great for aggregate bandwidth or high-end single drive applications.
Thats the only difference that E7K100 has over the 7K100, right?

7K100 is notebook version where as E7K100 is server versions.

So, for better battery life and for better temp tolerance buy 7K100 version.
