1st post ,so be kind. Here's my question. I just purchased my 1st laptop, a Pavilion dv9927cl. However, when I go to the Control Panel and ask for System information, it states that I have a dv9700. Anyone experience this? I'm confused....![]()
And I also have an audio crackling/garbled/static noise issue, but I'll get to that later.
Thanks in advance.

A dv9927cl is a preconfigured dv9700. So both.

Dv9700 is the serries dv9927cl is the exact model number of your computer within that serries.

As Lithus said, A dv9927cl is a preconfigured dv9700 which is in the dv9000 family.

Thanks to those who have responded, putting my mind at ease.
Flipfire, I'll give the wireless idea a try, but I've already tried the driver updates, and HP's Chat Tech service with no success.
Thanks again everyone. -
Thanks again! -
You don't need to disable your wireless to fix it, you only seem to need to disable the 802.11a band of your wireless card and that seems to fix it. go to your hardware devices and modify the properties of your wireless card and select disabled bands and then select the 802.11a band.
I had the same problem and after doing this it seems ti have fixed it and I dont have to shut down wireless to have sound without crackling sounds anymore.
Which is it? A dv9700 or a dv9927?
