    Hello !!

I'm about to buy a new laptop, I'd like to know which is better among these products.
I'll buy the laptop only for an office and programming usage so I don't need a dedicated graphic card but... I need (!) an axcellent keyboard and a good lcd.

In terms of keyboard and case quality are them equal ?
Which one has a better display ?

    Thanks.

both are not great , the LCD in these HP is really dim.

and that does not have higher resolution options, so get a Dell Latitude D630 or Lenovo Thinkpad R61, T61 might be better but you do not need discrete graphics so I think you should try a R61 or a Latitude D630.

Sure... Lenovo and Dell are two of my preferred brand but... the price is greater than hp...

The only R61 that I could buy is the one with an XGA screen (1024*768) but I think it is not very good...

Another interesting notebook for me in the same price range would be Samsung R70.

The R61 is in absolute my first choice but it costs too much for me and I could buy only the versione with the old T5550.
I don't know if it is a good choice...

No one can help me ?
    :(

My first choice was Lenovo R61i NA04TIT but it costs a little too much.
So... I've found an interesting offer: an Hp 6510B GR691ET at 600 euro that seems to be a good offer.

    What about it ?

Consider the Latitude D630 , much cheaper than these HPs with better features and better LCD resolution.

I never known Samsung makes computers , I knew they make Ram , Hd and SSD, how they compare to Dell or Lenovo?

What is the CPU of the HP 6510b?

if it is a good CPU powered model , it is not a bad deal but I still recommend you HP6910P if you like HP,and what is the R61 spec?

Well Hp6910p cost much much more and it seems to haven't a great display.

The 6510b that I'm about to buy at 600 euro is the GR691ET:
    HP 6510B

The best price for the R61i (NA04TIT) is 800 euro.
The exact model is this one:
    R61i

I got your point , yeah , it is a good model for the price and the HP has XP pro so 1gb is more than enough, if not, you can add 1 gb more easily since it's got an open slot.

So go for the HP , it is a great deal.

The HP does not have WSXGA+ or WXGA+ but for the price , it is a good value buiness model , T7250 is a god cpu although not as fast as t8xxx or t9xxx.

If you're trying to decide between the 6510b and the 6710b, then I'd say it's a matter of whether you prefer a 14.1" or a 15.4" model. I've used a 6710b once before; while it has the same screen size as my nw8440, it is somewhat bigger overall than my nw8440 (now replaced with the 8510w). I've never seen the 6510b before in real life, however.

To help narrow your decision, try looking at other 14.1" models and comparing them with their 15.4" equivalents, and see which you like better. That should help you decide what model to get (6510b or 6710b)

    I like a so-so portable laptop so I prefer a 13.3 or 14.1 laptop.
    But the questione is:
the keboard and display QUALITY of the 6510B is the same than the 6710B or the 6710b is better under these two aspects ?

yeah they feel the same and the 6510b , which I had had for a month before I bought my Thinkpad R61 for work, was very small and nice finished notebook.

my problem with HP is that I tend to judge whole HP brand image by these crpapy consumer HP laptops, but I think HP business models are nothing like its consumer models pavillion.

so don't worry about its quality, just LCD is a bit dim though, besides that it is hard to criticize of its quality.

670GBP is quite expensive for the spec you showed us but I heard that all laptops are more expensive in the UK than in the US,so it is tough to say if the price reasonable.

    good luck to you.

    Thanks.

The 6510B costs me 600 euro and at the same price I've found an ex-demo 6910P (With santa rosa T7500).

    I'm really undecided among these...

A lot of people I've spoken to have the same perception, so they basically rule out HP before they even take a look at their business range. The HP business range is probably one of the most complete, no-nonsense notebook range you can find on the market today. It is diverse and has models that fit almost every user type, from ultraportables to extreme workstations and budget models. No other manufacturer currently have such a diverse range of business notebooks.

600Euro is a good deal I think , not bat at all and it has the XP pro so 1gb should be ok........I think you should get a new model not an ex-demo.

    I'm in the air among 6510b (T7250), 6910P (Ex-demo with T7300) and 6710B (Ex-demo with T7500 and WSXGA+)... again...

I want to say you to go for the new one , though the WSXGA+ screen of the 6710B is very tempting...I think LCd is the most important component of any laptop since it is tough to change it.

do you know how long the 6710b has been a demo model for?

if it has been a demo pc for a long time , you should not get it.

personally, I will wait a bit longer to get myself a real pc , I'm now using my school's 8510p(I will have to return it) and most of time, I use my friend's Toshiba and Dell.In a couple of weeks , I will get something or maybe wait a month more to get a montevina, it is a tough decision , it is the probably most difficult time to buy a laptop.

I just wanna know how much a good montevina laptop will cost me.

I know but they are several months that I'm waiting... and now I need really to buy...

I'd await for Montevina only if my budget was much more.
With 600/700 euro I think that the models I've written about are good deal.

The 6910p is a new product sold "as new" from a manufacturer.
The 6510b is really a new product.
The 6710b has been bought nine months ago and has been used for some weeks only.

    I'm attracted from the 6910p.

Why wouldn't you buy an ex-demo product ?

    Edit:

Sigh !!! The 6510B has been sold and is no more available.
The "only" other choice at a little more expensive price (740 euro) is the Dell 1310 with T8100 and 2 gb of RAM.

    What about ?
