The real question is: how much more is this SW edition expensive compared to regular series? I'd rather buy it cheaper and mod it myself.

U-series CPUs on all versions. That means BootGuard, no future CPU upgrades (even by soldering), and undefeatable BIOS-based feature lockdowns. No thanks.

EDIT: It's fitting that it has Dark Side branding, though.

CPUs with a Y or U at the end of the model nunber have it. CPUs ending with H or M (as well as HQ, MQ, HK and MK) don't.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but what Pavilion model is this based off of? I was hoping to see if a bigger battery is available for it. I bought the laptop the other day from the Microsoft Store as a May 4th promotion.

Not sure if this helps, but in looking at my pdf copy of the "HP Pavilion Notebook (Intel) Star WarsTM Special Edition Notebook Maintenance and Service Guide", I only see one battery listed in the replacement parts list. There ARE various other parts listed that aren't meant specifically for the Star Wars laptop such as various color keyboard deck panels and display lids that fit this chassis. I'm making an assumption here, but my guess would be that if there were also various capacity batteries that would fit, they would have been listed in the parts section as well.
