Everytime I watch a Full screen youtube vid and decide to change the volume it gets out of what I'm watching. I just want to remove the battery meter but when I go to the uninstallers, there are so many types of HP MediaSmart

its the hp quick launch software. but i think there also should be a registry key that should do that, but dont know for sure. the caps lock notification can deinitely be turned off by a registry key.

    no. never experienced that.

gonna blame flash or your video card drivers needing some updating (does it freeze on the intel gpu if you have that option).

distant third possibility is your web browser being dumb and/or flash hardware acceleration causing problems or needing to be turned on to stop those problems.
