Peeps, I got the Pavilion Dv6-6096 and I need to know what kind of sound card do i have. I am particularly interested in knowing whether it can natively support a 5.1 (or even 7.1?) Surround channel Headphone.

I will either get the Speed Link - Medusa NX 5.1 Headphone or the Medion Erazer 5.1 channel Headphone. Will i be able to make best use out of them using my stock HP sound card? Hopefully i won't need a USB sound card for that.

    My system specs are:

    HP DV6-6096
CPU: I7 2nd generation (the on that goes up to 2.0GHz)
    RAM:8GB
VGA: AMD 6770M with switchable graphics
Sound Card: ? number of channels: ?
    HDD: 1TB

    cheers.

let me rephrase, has anyone of the DV6-6xxx owners tried plugging in a 5.1 or 7.1 surround channel Headset into the line-in jack? (analogue connection without using an external USB sound card)

did it operate to full extent demonstrating all the surround sound features?
