    Greets to the grp!

    I noticed the mention of a version 3.3 update to QP.

    I'm running XP Home with QP version 2.3.

    Is this new 3.3 version compatible with XP or is the 3.3 version a "Vista Only" item or what?

    Thnx,

    S.

    QP version 3 and above are Vista only. I dont think there would be any more major updates for XP.

    HP Quickplay installation does a machine check for the product number and from your previous thread you have the dv1000 series notebook which was not offered with Vista or Quickplay ver 3.0. Thats why you see that message. Install Qp ver 2 or better yet since you have Vista Ultimate use the included Media center since Quickplay pretty much serves the same function.

    Hi, I have dv8133EA notebook (AMD Athlon64/ATI 200M)
    I bought is second hand 2 years ago. and there was no Quickplay partitons. I want to restore it now. I read thousands of forum pages and still can't understand wich versions of QP and QPD I need. I tried 1.0 and it doesn't start, I tried 2.3 and it says it could be installed on authorized machines only.

    Does anybody know?
    Thanks

    Hi pablomedok,

    Have you try editing the registry key to force install QP and QPD?
    Here:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\QPFlag]
    "QPFlag"=dword:00000003
    @=""

    Regards,
