Hi Guys,
As mentioned - I've been trying to install an intel 6300 in my Envy 17 2002-tx with the F18 bios, however I can't seem to get around the error 0702.
I know it's a whitelist problem, but the only advice I've been able to see online is that people simply remove the battery and all peripherals and then reattach battery and reboot and it apparently accepts the card.
This hasn't been the case for me, no matter what battery I remove - BIOS or full, and no matter how long I leave it with the battery removed, I will always be greeted with the error 0702 on startup.
Is there any reason I'm having more problem than others, or are there some secret steps involved someone might want to PM me? I've had increasing problems with my wifi lately so I thought replacing the card once and for all might have been a good idea...

Same problem for me - the 6300 I got isn't accepted despite above poweroff procedure. I suspect there are three different PCI vendor IDs for 6300 model - listed somewhere in my post within Envy 2xxx lounge thread.
BTW The F.16 modded bios prepared by famous Insyde bios modder C...l didnt flash properly over F.18. -
I haven't found out yet how to flash mod the BIOS, is there is link? What happens when it failed over F.18, is it easily recoverable?

I got a 6300 installed in my ENVY 2280NR and the F.18 BIOS accepted it. The drivers used are latest 14.3.0.6 from Intel web site. The ENVY still locks up when downloading torrents!

So I kindly ask you If you can provide PCI VID data of your 6300 card.?

The link is:
[Test, sp54076] ENVY 17 2111TX - Remove Wifi Whitelist
But this one is not accepted as valid file by automatic flash process in bios (new bios file must be found in special path in HDD or USB flash partition, then during reboot, the current bios does self overwrite in flash).
There is no serious risk with this procedure, according to others that succesfully reverted Insyde modded bioses after errorneous files was actually flashed and bricked the machine. -
I would be happy to help, but I don't understand how to find this info? Can you tell me where to get this info from?

As update as I also posted in lounge, I have since noticed the 6300 driver settings reverted to default with new 6300 installed, so I turned off N mode in settings because my router doesn't have N (and had read others had done so) and the freeze ups have stopped for almost one week inc with torrents.
