Can people post the who makes their lcd panel? Mine was made by LG. I am not happy with it and wondering if there are other options within the 1680x1050 screens.
Under device manager just go to the monitors - generic PNP monitor - details tab - hardware Ids
Mine says "monitor\LPL1289"
Please only post if you have a 1680x1050.
Thanks.
Sorry for so many video posts but I love this laptop except the screen hurts my eyes due to the grainy video.

Can anyone help that has a good screen? Time is ticking (to send it back) and I don't want to get stuck with this screen if there is an alternative.

What do you mean help you? If you don't like it, call tech support or customer service and have them replace it. There's not much we here can do.

Hi,
Mine says, Monitor\Sec4447 -
Lithus - What Triad did is exactly how one(not you because you don't seem to have an HP) can help?
I always like to know as much information and what options are available for solutions before asking. This way you will not be told what cannot be done. The old adage "don't ask the question unless you know the answer." I have dealt with systems issues for many years and more often than not know more than the support person on the other end of the phone. Knowing company specific options available to them gives me the upper hand to encourage the shortest and most beneficial (to me) solutions. So far I have learned that both LG and Samsung LCD have been used on the dv9500t. All from 1 useful response. I have raised this to a case manager, but if this is a normal characteristic of HP screens then I don't want to get stuck with it.
Triad- I assume your screen is crisp. thanks for the response. -
I have a LG screen and it is pretty good -
Thanks gridtalker. I am hoping mine is just part of a bad batch. The screen was manufactured in Jan 2005, so hopefully the next one will be better. HP is shipping a replacement out to me, so hopefully this one is just bad and it is not a design issue.

curious what was wrong with it?

While the first one was worse, the new one was still not great. The lcd panels that HP is using in the 1680x1050 displays have pretty bad viewing angle issues. This is not an issue of just looking at it from the sides but the brightness is noticably different when looking at the top half of the screen vs. the bottom half of the screen when directly in front of it. If you lower your head the bottom part becomes brighter and the top half becomes darker. Unfortunately, you cannot see this displays in the stores because most retail places carry just the 1440x900 display. Hope this helps.
Who makes your dv9500t 1680x1050 LCD?
