thank you and can you please explain why you chose either one
-
dv2035us (dv2000t retail variant).
I choose it because HP has giving me great service in the past, and the style of the new HP notebooks are really trend setting.
Plus, the power of Core Duo was another reason. -
dv6126tx.
I choose this b'coz I seldom move around with my laptop. If u move often, then choose dv2000t/z. -
dv2000t -- best balance of portability and power -- I have no use for a bigger screen, and I hate trying to use one's any smaller.
-
got it cuz of the looks. the lid looks cool
-
Thank you guys for voting, Keep the votes coming im just curious who has what since i dont know which one to get

DV2000T- The total package, portability, power, style. It also won't break your budget.

i have both i like the portability of the 2000 but i like the screen size of the 6000. plus my 6000 got higher specs than the 2000 so i like the 6000 more. i personally like a bigger screen so i like the 6000 but 2000 is nice to for some. my sister seems to like the 2000 alot. so if size is the determining factor go to bestbuy and look at both yourself and see if the 6000 is too big for you. it wasn't for me. but it was a tad slow so i exchanged it for a faster one.
-
have gone to best buys way too many times... lol. I am settled on the dv2000t just waiting for costco now.
-
haha you can never go to best buy enough!!! lol
-
Really love my dv2000t! Love the compact size.
I travel about every month or two, and it is very lightweight b ut powerful.
I also find the screen to be excellent. Perhaps being it's a wide screen makes the 14" more livable, but I don't have any issues with the screen size.
Really dependable, fun laptop! You'll love yours! -
i just placed an order for a dv2000t, the build date is december 8th. I shipped it home to oregon.. so i wont be charged tax!
I wont be home until the 16th anyways.. so i dont care about the waiting time. I am now only worried about the screen.... anything buy a SEC please! LOL

I don't understand why everybody hates SEC screens, I mean I have one, and am very pleased with it. There is some light leakeage, thats true, but it is only noticeable when the screen is completely black, and I don't have any dead pixels as well.
-
well.. maybe you received one of the good onces... if i receive a good one i would probablly keep it. My build date was supposed to be today, but they still have not shipped it out yet.
-
received my dv2000t laptop 2 days ago and i got a QDS screen!
-
hows the screen look, when'd you place your order? what date?
-
I chose the dv2000t series (actual model I own is a dv2174cl) because of its smaller size, lighter weight and abundance of features. Plus, I love the overall style and finish of the notebook and especially the price I paid for it ($838 at Sam's Club!!). After seeing how much I could have paid for this same exact notebook though the CTO (configure to order) from the HP site, this was a far better value, as it was about $150-$200 less than through the site. Had mine for 2 days now and just loving it, no problems at all!
-
2000t for me, i'm a college student, and its best if you do a lot of moving around, light and one inch more of screen space isn't that much for me plus its heavier and bulky, the wide screen on the 14.1 is impressive enough for me. i work with autocad and a lot of 3d modeling program and i was going to purchase the 6000t because it does offer a better graphics card but so far my 2000t is doing all the work just fine.
-
DV2000T, the 14" WXGA is excellent. The balance between config and performance is great.
-
Got a dv2040tx because it's proof you don't have to spend loads of quids on a Mac just because they look good. I got my dv2040tx and 1 month later my wife was pregnant!
-
dv2000t...i wanted a 14 inch laptop with a dedicated graphics, and the 2000t fit the bill perfectly.
-
Dv2000t for portability, battery life, among other things.
-
dv6000t
I went the rounds buying other laptops and a desktop and was sorely dissatisfied (gateway, dell, and apple all were disapointments). I have an antique HP desktop that is still in use, daily, by my wife (7 year old machine) and it has given me no trouble (I did upgrade my RAM, added another HDD, and removed Windows ME and installed XP Professional). I also had a 4 year old HP desktop I sold when I bought a Dell desktop (it is a piece of junk, the Dell I mean) 6-7 months ago. I have also owned 3 HP printers, and 2 HP cameras with no complaints from any of them.
I wanted a high powered intel duo core so I could run some heavy applications while being mobile. I wanted a 15.4 monitor, and decent graphics (not a gamer, but I like films), Bluetooth, and quality. The only computers I have ever owned and been 100% satisfied with were HP, and frankly... the 6000 in the imprint finish is dead sexy. -
dv600t for me:
Bigger, more powerful, and not massively heavy. Really great machine. -
And dv6000z for me, because of the 15,4 inch screen. Wanted to get the one with Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, but after reading all these SATA problems people are having, then i'm glad i went with AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core.
-
I went the C2D route and I've had zero problems with it...and increased performance.
-
i feel sorry for who ever when amd on this generation of procs.. c2d is way way better.. i was an amd fan over the p4 days but in dual core intels down some major homework and amds trying to catchup..
-
Most people use their computers for just the basic things, like surfing the web, listening to music, watching movies, playing games, etc. Now, how would the AMD be any inferior to Intel in those simple tasks? Well, newer games may be more demanding, but surely the difference between Intel's Dual Cores and AMD's Dual Cores is not THAT huge that it would leave AMD owners stranded when wanting to play some games..
And after reading all these SATA problems when reinstalling WinXP, and the high pitched noise coming from those Intel Coro 2 Duo notebooks, then i am GLAD i have an AMD in my notebook. -
I helped my daughter, whose in college, purchase a dv2000t. I had her go to Best Buy and compare the dv2000 and dv6000. She preferred the smaller size because she carries it around. I prefer the Intel processor, so ended up configuring the notebook at HP. My daughter is very happy with the dv2000t.
-
dv2000 because it's more portable. I've had giant notebooks before and I wanted something I could actually pick up without giving myself a hernia.
-
I picked the dv5000t/6000t because it was going to be my main computer throughout college and as much as I love portable computers, I just don't feel comfortable staring at a tiny screen and typing on cramped KBs for 4 years. So I picked the 15.4 inch because it is a good balance of portability and size.
-
I originally owned the 6000t, but the size was a bit much. I had battery issues so I returned it and switched to the 2000z. The smaller footprint is awesome and I love the lower power consumption but I do see a difference in the processors of the C2D and the Dual AMD.
I have seen a performance issue dating back to the Athlons and I see one now as well. Amd just seems to be a step behind on speed and agility in their processor chipsets. This may change but I will be changing to the Intel based dv2000 series before it's said and done. No offense....I may be biased, but I can definately see a difference. -
dv6000, basically because of the better GPU, I'd prefer the 14,1inch screen, it is just perfect.
-
I've got the dv6000t. I love it but I'll probably get a smaller & lighter unit next time.
Who owns a DV2000T or DV6000T?
