Hello, very new here, but I felt I should share my story with the community.
I ordered my HP pavillion dv6t delect edition on august 17th, and it was shipped on the 24th.
The fedex website said it would arrive on the 27th, (now yesterday) but did not arrive due to a "clearance delay". I called up HP the night before on the 26th and asked if my computer would still arrive on the day it was supposed to. A man named Steve with the most hillariously cartoon indian acccent ive ever heard told me that it would be coming on the right day. I then called fedex to confirm this, and they said that that was very unlikely. And so the 27th passes and still no computer at my doorstep. I then check the tracking website and to my joy, the computer has moved out of alaska. Oh joy! hours later it lands in Oakland, CA, at about 11PM pacific. I went to bed that night dreaming of my new laptop and all the wonderous adventures we would have the next day.
I awoke the next morning and jumped in the air with glee. The computer was now in my city, Los Angeles, "at dest sort facility". I thought, well great! It should arrive any time now right? after all, its been in L.A. since 1:30 AM! Hours passed, and still no delivery. And so for the thousandth time, I called up Fedex to see what was up. They said that due to the clearance delay the day before, the package would not move until monday morning, at roughly 10:30 AM.
...
And I'm leaving for vacation 8AM monday morning.
I will not have the computer in my hands until the 6th of September, which would make it about 3 weeks from the time I placed the order.
Gosh darnit.

Yep, it is upsetting when it does not arrive by the expected date. I hear often complaints about clearance delays, although these are things that are out of HP's control.

Thats just how shipping goes. Anything can effect the delivery date and its something you just have to deal with. If you call HP they'll probably give you a credit of some sort, but really its just life

if you want/need something fast/now, go buy it at retail.

That's just two business days off. The "E" in "ETA" stands for estimated.
Who would like to hear me rant about HP and Fedex?
