HP already has the tx2500 up for configuration on their site, but Intel's processors are giving me pause. Laptop Mag's beaming review of the new dv5t Intel notebook cannot include the new 9x00 processor's benchmark specs, due to pre-release NDA, but they reckon it's in the top three in performance scores.
I really want to know what I'm getting if I buy the tablet. So, if anyone is buying one today, please do a review right when you receive it! I figure you'll be pleasing many more people than just me.

Oddly they've just removed pretty much everything about the TX2500 from the UK site. -

Way better integrated graphics in the AMD Puma platform, and using an AMD chipset instead of NVIDIA should reduce heat output a lot. If you want a tablet notebook I'd go for this one.
-
I believe I might buy one today. I wish Dell would release their new lineup so I can make an educated decision about this. Ah well...
-
i dunno yet...my sis wants one...but i guess will wait for reviews before we put down any money....wishing the screen is bright and nice....the ati 3200 card..is it marginally better than the nvidia 8400gs? how does the new amd proc fair?

The ATI 3200 is their latest integrated GPU, which I doubt will keep up with a 8400GS but it's very energy efficient and much faster than its already decent predecessor. I built a PC with the desktop version of that chipset (AMD 780G) and the northbridge ran cool with just a passive heatsink, no heatpipes or anything. They build the chipset on TSMC's 55nm fabs. It's the best integrated GPU you can buy. Putting a dedicated GPU (with its extra heat) in such a tiny notebook could be done but as skittish as HP must be about heat after their last generation I can see why they would stick with integrated.

HP Pavilion tx2500 First Look Review
He likes it. Lots of pictures too. -
Anyone know of other reviews on it besides the one above? I'm seriously thinking of picking up the tablet. I might decide to go to Best Buy to see if they have it in stock (most likely not, but I'm always optimistic). If they do, I'll play with it a bit and post up a quick first-look on it. Anything I should look for in particular?

heres a minor performance review: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=263085
I believe the tx2500 will be a major hit for HP's notebooks. Its probably one of the best consumer tablets in the market -
oh so the new intergrated gpus are starting to show up now? wonder which ones are better. of course dedicated will be the way to go,but im not fussed about graphics, thats why i have a console. hope these are way better then the x3100 lol. wots nvidias new intergrated ones then, cause i have the 7150m already in the hp

I was looking into this for commuting purposes. Just a light weight affordable portable laptop to travel with, and use for my daily tasks. My DV6000T has been a champ so far, just need to figure out how much RAM it can handle and up that. Plan on buying this in a few months!
-
I was close to pulling the trigger on getting the tx2500z but realized I was being hasty in my choice. Going to wait a bit for a review to come out from CNET or another well known reviewing place on it before I make the final call. Plus, the Lenovo X61T has lots of favorable reviews on it already (only downside is the lack of a touchpad on it).
-
the tx2500 is looking pretty good, but one thing that i havent really heard about is its durability/robustness, its even risen from #8 to #4 in the popularity poll, looking pretty good so far, but theres so much more i need to learn about this laptop

From the benchmarks, the integrated graphics are better than nvidia 8400M dedicated graphics.
I was all intel until recently when i sold everything (Dell M1330, Dell 1720) and got this. I have not recieved it yet.
CPU is on par with Core2Duo, Graphics are way better than intel integrated.
Hoping that the integrated graphics with the new CPU will beat the battery life of a Core2Duo with dedicated graphics. If so, then i think this tablet will be a winner. -
The $500 off this makes it so tempting.
Wonder how long that will last.... -
Does anyone know why have they pulled out 2.3 Ghz and 2.4Ghz processors
-
BTW, the 2.3GHz was never an option for the CTO models. It seems to be only available in the retail pre-configured models. -
I cant see the 2.3 and 2.4 processor on the hp site...anyone else see that problem?
-
I've read the review on tablet pc reviews and I was almost bought on it vs the Dell XPS M1330 but the "washed out" screen was the one thing that stopped me besides battery.
I would like to know other people's opinion on the subject about the display. -
Having said that personally the screen works fine for me. The tx does offer a touch and pen enabled screen so unlike the Dell you do get some benefits. There are other convertibles which dont suffer the same issue but you do end up paying more for them. if you dont care about the tablet functionality there are better notebooks like the 13.3" Toshiba U400 series which is similar to the tx2500 without the touchscreen might be something to consider about. -
Who's buying the tx2500 TODAY?
