Just curious why the DV4000 rule over the V4000ts? i just bought one and would like someone who owns it to tell me thier opinions of it. I havent found any reviews on the v4000t either. I almost feel i should cancel my order and just get a different lappy but i like the config and looks of the v4000t.
So if anyone has it or can tell me why its not popular i'd love to hear some ideas and reassurnace of my purchase!

They are basically the same machine.
-
Yeah - the dv4000 and the V4000/t are the same notebook, just different cases/features. The V4000t is basically a money-saver version of the dv4000 as it has less mulitmedia features, but is still a good, solid notebook.
-
Yeah, for the extra few bucks I got the dv4000 for the media features b/c they were worth it for me. I'm not sure why we don't have any v4000t users.

I suppose people like the silver exterior and black interior look of it, the QuickPlay feature, and the optional remote and earbuds. Plus, I've seen several commercials of the DV4000 on TV but none of the V4000Ts but both are technically the exact same machine.

I think a guy in this forum bought it and return it due to the screen's problem. I would like to see a review on V4000t also.

I think the QuickPlay and the media remote are the big selling points of DV4000. If you don't need these features, there are way many more model to choose from. The rest of the hardware in DV4000 (or V4000t) is not that exciting except for the Ati X700. Without QuickPlay, I may go for another brand instead of getting the DV4000/V4000T.

I think another reason why the dv4000 is more popular, in addition to what was posted by everybody else, is because it is more common to see a dv4000 sitting on a shelf, rather than the less-attractive v4000t.

Good call, Chaz. I don't do much brick&mortar shopping for technology, but a lot of folks do! (If I had a Costco, I'd buy my HPs from there; you Costco shoppers are so lucky!)
-
Luckily I got two Costcos less than 30 minutes away.

If you live in L.A., there is probably one within a couple hours. -
Fie! Fie on all your houses!
(Fie on the Costcos close to your houses, too!)

If it makes you feel any better Slappy, I'm extremely ticked off that there are absolutely no Staples stores in Houston, the fourth largest city in the U.S!! Instead, the closest stores are in very small populated towns over 100 miles north of me. Come on Staples, you'd get a lot of revenue by opening stores in Houston, whats the matter with you!?

I lived in Houston for a few years and I remember I had to drive 30-40minutes to Fiesta for Grocery shopping. I miss Fiesta and the dim sum restaurants.
Why are V4000t NOT popular?
