The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

I have found in my recent trek to purchasing my HP dv6000t, how much a valuable resource the NBR HP forums are. Recently, I recieved email from moduslink regarding my Vista disck has shipped, and will be here in one weeks time. So my first impulse is to check NBR to see how I need to reformat and find all the drivers. It is a pain to sort through the countless pages in this HP forum regarding Vista upgrades.

For example, This post by Anna from HP regarding the dv2000t audio issue, should have been immediately stickied http://forums.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=109066. Additionaly, A basic how to guide would prove to be useful to many others uncluding myself as well. For instance this one: http://forums.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=88574&highlight=how+to+vista+upgrade

Why aren't there more stickies concerning the Vista jump, when it is widely known that its a difficult task. The vast amount of knowledge provided by the users of this forum, is beneficial to ALL HP customers. Admins, why not just sticky the important things on this board?

Stickies flood the board -- simply put.

It's unreasonable to have a sticky for everything.

    Especially with the search feature.

Then use the bookmark feature in your browser. Make a little folder called "NBR".

We don't really dig having pages and pages of stickies, we try to keep it under 4 for any forum because they tend to confuse new forum users. That being said, we're always open to threads being nominated for being stickies and will certainly consider these. It's really up to the mods of each forum as the Admins can't stay on top of every little thing. But, the Admins have instructed only to sticky very important threads.
