Why doesn't HP make an independent charger for batteries?

This would solve a lot of problems when it comes to the ac jack. Also I would love to be charging one of my batteries while using the other. Other simpler electronics have independent chargers so why can't laptop batteries have it.

They actually do. My 12 cell battery comes with its own charger. Look under power charging solutions

Just go onto ebay and search for "dv6000 battery" (without quotes). Half the results will be for an independent battery charger for the dv6000 battery.

HP does make independent battery chargers, but I thought they are only for the HP Compaq business notebook batteries. But, based what I'm reading here, they just might be making chargers for the consumer pavilion models as well. I do know that the independent chargers for the HP Compaq business notebooks are rather expensive.
