It's very annoying because a person centers their palms and hands around the space bar when typing with two hands. And when you have a track pad thats off to the right, not by a little, but a lot, your right palm may produce accidental actions you may not want.
Can anyone clarify why hp makes all their touch pads off aligned?
And is anyone happy about this?

They usually align it to the middle of the main qwerty keyboard (excluding the num pad). When you use a laptop you usually have a hand on each side of the keyboard, I do and so do most of my friends. You probably grew accustomed to a different typing manner, so that is why you are noticing a problem.

It makes the laptop look more uniform and aesthetically pleasing. everything is at mid-points and right angles.

My dv9700t's trackpad is aligned with the space bar. Maybe it's just on the dv6500t.

yeah, its just on these other models.
But then again, why would HP change it just for the DV9700t and not for any other models especially even if it screw up with its aesthetics?

Why is HP's trackpads never aligned with the space bar?
