    Why is there a sim card slot under battery in dv4t???

    My friend brought over his dv4t notebook for some help today and I noticed under his battery there was a slot it was marked as sim card slot. What was it and what is it there for?

    Its for the wireless broadband service(WWAN). Ofcourse just having the SIM card doesnt mean you can slide a card and connect toa WWAN service. You'll need to have te accompanying WWAN hardware(antenna & WWAN modem) along with a service plan from a carrier. if you didnt choose the WWAN(wireless bradband) option when ordering the notebook, then you dant have the necessary hardware to get the service.
