Why my order was extremely delayed

Hi, everyone. I am an international student from China. And I placed the order of HP ENVY 14 on June 30th. The original date of shipping date is July 12, however, I received an E-mail on July 13th that my order is delayed to July 23. I am extremely angry about this because I am going to China on July 29th. How can I get that computer on time? i try to contact HP for several times, but they told me that their production team is doing their best to build my product as fast as possible. This makes nonsense to me.
I need further assistants from your guys.

 

What parts did you order.


Officially HP ran out of some parts during construction.

Unofficially we determined them to be 520m processors and 500GB Hdds.

Orders with either of those parts got delayed to July 12th

orders with both got delayed longer a second time.

Orders with the 450m and a ssd (or an i7 and the ssd or something) got shipped out on the 9th.


My order made it to me by the 16th (shipped on monday, got here today on friday). Hopefully yours will ship before the 23rd.

But hell I dunno. HP's having a few production issues at the start or something.

If it ships on the 23rd, it might or might not make it on the 28th. Most people's orders are taking about 5-7 days. If I were you I would call up HP and try to get free 2 day shipping, since they botched your order.

I only had one shipping delay but there are people who got two delays and then others who got one delay, shipped out on the 12th, but got delayed in customs and won't get to them until the 20th.


you just have to get lucky.

I don't think it'll ship before the 23rd because this is your first delay.


if it ships on the 23rd it MAY get to you by the 28th. but...it might not. Depends on whether or not it is processed in china and then south korea (it hops a boat from shanghai to south korea before flying out) over the weekend.

it will get a customs delay both in china AND in alaska. and the alaska one may take a day or two to clear up. It did for me, but I was lucky. Others got delayed over the weekend and won't arive for them until the 20th.

 

Therefore, the product is shipped from China? Is there possibility that I can pick it up in Shanghai? If it works, it's ok for me.

 

I'm not sure. Possibly, but probably not.


I mean the laptop will be available at a way overpriced price in china with probably lower end specs but it definitely won't be the customized one you bought.


*shrugs* could try calling HP or fed ex or something. But I know they will try to deliver it to whatever address you put in a couple times once it's been shipped. then they send it back to HP because as a return to sender.

 

My order is for a 370m / 160gb SSD and it's delayed until the 23rd too.

it's probably just production issues in the factory and the rep who said there were some items backordered was clueless.

 

Possible story:
Maybe the factory was putting out subpar units, much worse than what we're seeing right now. So HP delayed the initial shipments. Then the factory got a bit better and HP said "screw it" and shipped out the okay quality units.

 

Aren't they built in China? Oh the irony.

I hope you get your laptop on time.

 

I have been waiting for 18 days. And I am so angry about HP does to me. Why its service is extremely terrible?
